Feeling supported?

Are you not feeling supported by friends, family, or your partner? This is quite common for people who are making healthier changes in their life. When you are creating change in your life to become healthier it is important to have a support system that is understanding and compassionate.

Often, family, friends, and partner influence your patterns and behaviors. If they are not making healthier changes that align with yours, then they will not have the understanding to provide you with support. It is important to ask for support and seek it out from those away from your old behaviors who are understanding, compassionate, and supportive. As you are re-establishing your values, your support system should align with your goals.

Seeking support can be uncomfortable because there is a level of vulnerability. The right support system will make you feel like you are worthy, not judged, and encouraged. In my early twenties I sought my first coach. I had a goal and she provided me with the support and encouragement to help me see it to the end. If it were not for her knowledge, support, and encouragement I would not be where I am today. Because, that relationship led me to more coaches, meeting new people, and developing friendships that supported me in my goals. These people were steps ahead of me in my fitness, health, lifestyle, career, and spiritual walk. As I level up in my life goals and profession, I level up in seeking new support.

  • You should feel worthy and seen in these relationships. These people should be steps ahead of you in your process and can encourage you to achieve your goals and dreams.
